Book Reviews

If you're looking for a good book to read, I recommend starting The Vampire Diaries series. It's not your typical teen romance/vampire series. This series has a lot of action, mystery and suspense. Some of the plot is predictable, but then out of nowhere, BAM! Where the heck did that come from?
For those of you who have watched the television series on the CW network, be warned, the books don't follow the television show very closely. The tv show is also good if you're into watching tv, but I also highly recommend reading the books.  I haven't finished the entire series yet, but I think there are four or five books in it so far.

Another series that I thought was particularly spectacular is the Sookie Stackhouse novels. They are the books that the HBO series True Blood is loosely based on. If you like the show, give the books a try. They're just as good, if not better than the show. There are ten books in the series right now; the eleventh is coming out in May. Each book is a fast read; once you start, you won't be able to stop.

If you don't like vampire books, I suggest Dan Brown's "Robert Langdon" trilogy. The first book is The Da Vinci Code. The second book is Angels and Demons, which is the prequel to The Da Vinci Code, and last is The Lost Symbol; my favorite of the series. The first two books of this series have been made into movies with the same titles; they did very well and I enjoyed them. I hope they decide to make The Lost Symbol into a movie also. It would complete the trilogy and I think it would make a great film. The book is full of mystery and suspense, again with heavy religious themes.
